Wang Feng - Beijing Beijing

As Beijing (and other chinese cities) suffers from a historically bad pollution, a chinese citizen set images of smog to the famous song "Beijing Beijing" by Wang Feng. He was born into a musical family in Beijing in 1971 and he began studying violin at the age of 5. He later switched from classical music to rock, which he found a better way to express his feelings. In 1994, Wang formed his own rock band, No.43 in Baojiajie Street, named after the address of the Central Conservatory of Music where he majored in violin and viola. He made his mark in his early albums, such as No. 43 in Baojiajie Street in 1997 and Beijing Bicycle, the soundtrack of the award-winning film of the same name by director Wang Xiaoshuai in 2001. It was his attention to melody and musicality, with a focus on easy-rock sounds, that captured the media attention to him. But dark and hard times forced him to leave his band and sign with Warner in 2000. He launched a series of successful albums and songs, including Flower in Flame, Love is a Happy Bullet and Crying with Smiles. Wang rose to fame with tracks such as Flying Higher in 2004, which topped Music Radio's billboard for eight weeks and this song: Beijing Beijing, a music classic in the current chinese music era.
