Anyone in need of a sunshiny song? If you need it here's a good song. For starters let's remind that after 5 years of being in the Philippine Music Industry - which included 4 releases with MCA Music Inc., chart topping singles, nationwide touring, a 2 year stint on mainstream television and opening for Kelly Clarkson at the Araneta Coliseum - Miguel Escueta is now on the cusp of going global. Under the new moniker "the Morning Episodes," Escueta and the rest of his band have just signed up with Grammy Nominated Producer Christian "Davis" Stalnecker in Los Angeles. The band has also signed licensing deals for several of his songs with music placement companies in Los Angeles (Heavy Hitters Music and Crucial Music), Australia (Blue Pie Productions) and New York (Pump Audio Music). This gives his music big opportunities to be placed on TV Shows, Movies and Ads in the U.S. and U.K.
"Alive" from the Morning Episodes calls to mind the pick me upper lyrics of Jacks Mannequin and the minor electro warbles of LCD Soundsystem. It is a lot more like the danceable indie tunes that you like, only with less dancing and more clapping (maybe because it is more pop rock than dance). For some reasons, this song will make you mentally clap your hands in the air. There's enough sounds on this song that makes it lively in a contagious way. Yes, quite appropriately titled, this song will make you feel alive.
