Alarice - Sunday Afternoon

Born in Auckland, New Zealand to Singaporean parents, Alarice spent her childhood as a third culture kid, growing up in Japan, Indonesia, Dubai, India, Singapore and finally Australia. It was her stint Down Under that awakened her passion for songwriting and music which she discovered as a young teen. It was at a camping trip at Kangaroo Valley, where her peers learnt of Alarice’s voice, which eventually led to Alarice’s first performance at the Sydney Opera House for her high school’s annual music festival.

Recognising her gift, Alarice picked up the guitar at 17 and found her immense love for putting original lyric to melody. One can describe Alarice’s musical style as acoustic pop with pinch of folk and modern day Country. Her effortless vocals have been likened to that of songstress Brooke Fraser and having the songwriting maturity of Singapore’s very own Corrinne May.In 2008, Alarice released her debut EP, ‘Songs for a Season’ which she recorded in Melbourne Australia with producer Brad Evans (Human Nature, Guy Sebastian). As an independent artist, 23 year old Alarice has already managed a sold-out tour in the East, with stops including Singapore.
