Svarga is a Russian pagan folk metal band. They have released two full-length albums “Ogni Na Kurganakh” (2005), “There, Where Woods Doze…” (“Там, Где Дремлют Леса…”) (2007) and one demo Cherez Myortvuyu Reku. Masha, vocalist of russian folk metal band Arkona, was also guest vocalist on Ogni Na Kurganakh album.
The main inspiration of this band is rather traditional metal bands, with especially bass parts and guitar solos reminiscent of Iron Maiden and their followers, without forgetting small riffing parts more in the thrash/speed metal vein. Some tracks may also remind more of pagan power metal style a la Ensiferum. In accordance to all this the overall pace of the album is lively without being utterly fast, and the production crystal clear.
