Another 80's revival? Yes, why not? 80's and 90's are my favourite decades, those were the years when i was a kid so i suppose that might be a BIG influence. So when i heard Golden Bomber's new single i really loved it: synthpop music, (horrible) outfits, insane choreography, old-fashioned hairstyle.... a general retro-ambient. It was about a year and two months since this band released their previous single, “Yowasete Mojito“ and it seems there was a big expectation for something new because it has sold 125,000 copies in the first week, and topped Oricon's single chart and leaving AKB48 behind.
So who is Golden Bomber? It's a Japanese visual kei "air" rock band formed in 2004 and signed to the independent label Euclid Agency. Despite not actually performing the music themselves, they have gained popularity through their theatrical "live shows". Currently they have released 12 singles, 9 albums, and 24 DVDs. To their biography we must add this new hit, a really catchy tune and really retro.
