Wissam Hilal - Single

Wissam was born April 14, 1989, in Damascus, Syria. He was the first of two children raised in a loving family by mother Meliea and father Raffat Hilal who encouraged him at an early age to pursue his passion for singing and songwriting. At the age of 18 Wissam moved from Damascus to Lebanon, Beirut where he made his breakthrough in the music industry. He quickly attracted the attention of established artists in the industry who offered their guidance and support to Wissam; believing in his ability to change the landscape of commercial English pop music in the Middle East. Wissam recorded his first debut album in 2008 titled ‘You Belong To Me’. The album contained 8 original tracks (pop/rock) and was released locally in Syria and Lebanon and was well received. As his popularity and talent grew, Wissam moved to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates January 2012 after completing his English Literature university degree; where he started planning and preparing for his first album of an International standard.

At the moment he's preparing his new album, he has already recorded 6 tracks, including today's frontpage track, “Single”, that continues to draw success even before its official release. The music video for “Single” was filmed in Dubai under the direction of Executive Producer Tareq Tenner. Additionally, Wissam has paired with international “Miss Intercontinental” pop singer Nancy Afyouni to record the new smash hit “Got Them Dancing” (due to be released Dec 2012). This partnership has generated a lot of positive media attention as both artists are pioneering English singing Middle Eastern stars.
